iLikeSharePoint CZ stands for non-profit organization established in May 2013 for supporting all (SharePoint related) IT professionals from Czech Republic. You can find us writing a reviews or blog posts, organize regular on-line sessions every month on some topic voted by our members, organize Czech SharePoint conferences, providing scripts or How-to guides to our members or doing a consultancy. The Czech SharePoint User Group (community of professionals) is an open group for everyone, who wants learn more about SharePoint products and technologies, share experience and meet more friends.
There was a time six years ago, when SharePoint has one or two sessions inside bigger technical events only or was not part of some events at all. That was not enough for us, we want a change. So, we created an event, which is interesting for all levels of IT related people (developers, decision makers, admins, content editors, managers) across all SharePoint versions & editions including O365. An event that connects people between each other and brings interesting guests / speakers every year.

Do you want to come? The Czech Republic is located in Central Europe. It is surrounded by Germany, Poland, Slovakia and Austria and it is divided into two main parts: Bohemia (Czech Lands) to the west with capital city Prague and Moravia to the southeast, with second biggest city Brno.
Time zone is GMT +1and 24-hour clock format is used. The week starts on Monday, Saturday and Sunday are not working days.
The Czech Republic is located in a temperate climate zone, that means that winters are milder and summers are dryer. The average temperature in summer is 27˚C and -5˚C in winter.
Official currency is Czech crown (CZK, Kč), Euro is accepted in selected stores only. The easiest way is to get the money from ATMs, which are installed at every corner in downtown. The absolute majority of them accepts all common international types of payment card (Visa, MasterCard, Plus, Maestro and others). Never exchange money with the people on the street! Use banks, airport / train stores or recommended places, otherwise rate will be too high.
Official language is Czech, which belongs to the group of Slavic languages and it is very similar to Slovak, Polish or Slovenian, usualy we could speak both – Czech & Slovak. Czech people can read and understand English, but are too shy to speak, because English learn at school without daily practice is just a passive knowledge.
The Czech Republic is not affected by any military conflict. In fact Czech Republic is one of the safest countries in the European Union, our republic was placed in the first twenty safest countries in many surveys, Prague in the first fifty safest cities worldwide.
Citizens of EU countries may stay here without permit for up to 3 months with any travel document or ID card.
The largest and main Czech international airport is the Václav Havel Airport (name was changed in 2012), the main Czech airline is Czech Airlines (ČSA), which ranks among the large European airlines.
In order to be able to use medical care in the Czech Republic, you must have a European Health Insurance Card that proves you are insured, however only essential medical care is fully paid. Other fees depends on the agreement between your insurer and the clinic.
Hotels are designated from one to five stars and classification is no different from that in other European countries. You will often find comfortable and quiet accommodation in guest houses, usually characterised by their personal approach and good quality to price ratio.
There is a ban on smoking in enclosed areas freely accessible to the public, public transport, covered platforms, shelters and waiting rooms for public road and rail transport as well as public transport in cities. Most restaurants have separate rooms for non-smokers during lunchtime, from 11 am to 2 pm.
Czech Republic is covered by several mobile networks like Vodafone, O2 or T-Mobile. It is up to your choice which is the best if you stay longer. Both kind of tarifs exist here: pre-paid as well as regular ones.
